Dear New York City,

Each spring, we dust off corners of our home, replace the bedding, clean up and clear out. But this year is a little different. This year, we’re experiencing spring at home, for the most part.

We miss the Chelsea neighbourhood that welcomed us with open arms this past fall. We miss the diversity in the architecture, the local restaurants representing many parts of the world, and, most of all, we miss seeing the streets filled with people who appreciate and respect community and design. Our people. That’s why NYC becomes a neighbourhood, and not just the large city its name brings to mind for some. We miss that fierce, contagious energy you find throughout the city—that energy you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Although we miss you, NYC, we are embracing the silver linings. Our spaces are adopting new meanings. The dining room is the home office, the art station, the yoga studio. Home is our sanctuary. During this slow time, we hope you’ll find some time to be inspired. We have never been more grateful for home, but we can’t wait to see you again.
